We are a committee of very dedicated animal lovers that are taking a stand for the thousands of pets that are lost in council pounds throughout Australia every year.
4 Paws Animal Rescue's aim is that through education .. people will become more aware of the plight of these animals and practice responsible pet ownership .. an animal is a soul .. not a disposable commodity .. not something you get rid of when the kids leave home .. or gets sick .. or is a bit naughty .. once you commit to an animal it should be for the full term of that animal’s life .. euthanasia through Maroochy Shire Council pound has reduced to almost zero .. the only dogs that are euthanised at the pound now are animals deemed to be dangerous to humans by the council.
Another important role of 4 Paws Animal Rescue is to stress the importance of spaying/neutering and microchipping of all pets .. as well as promoting the benefits of adopting a homeless pet .. we have in various community activities and events in an effort to expand public awareness on the plight of homeless animals .. in the near future our aim is to conduct educational seminars at local schools and community centres .. our younger generation are tomorrow's future generation and what better way to promote responsible pet ownership than in our schools and right now.
4 Paws Animal Rescue has an urgent need for more Foster Family/Person .. without these dedicated people these animals have few options .. a Foster Carers roll is to take an animal/s into their heart and homes .. this is done as soon as possible .. usually once it arrives in our care we look for the most suitable carer for that particular animal .. Foster Carers then begin to socialize the pet to prepare it for adoption.
